Heiner Stuckenschmidt


Heiner Stuckenschmidt is full Professor of Computer Science at Mannheim University. There he is leading the Artificial Intelligence Research Group (http://ki.informatik.uni-mannheim.de) conducting basic and applied research in data semantics on the Web. The group works closely together with Mannheim University Library and other information providers like the Leibnitz Center for Social Science (GESIS) on using semantic technologies for improving data access and data analysis in science. Together with these and other institutions he has conducted research projects targeting medicine, business and economics, and social sciences as an application area. In 2010, Heiner Stuckenschmidt has been nominated as CIO of Mannheim University with a responsibility for strategic questions concerning services and organization of the library and the computing center. In this role, he is actively promoting applied research as a basis for high quality information services.
