Dr. Brigitte Mathiak is currently team leader at GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. Her team is focused on using Semantic Web technologies for social sciences. She studied computer science at the Technical University of Braunschweig and did her PhD thesis on layout analysis of biomedical literature. Since that time, she has been interested in applied, cross-discipline text mining and text analysis.
She is currently working on a number of projects, e.g. InfoLis (DFG) in cooperation with Mannheim University Library. The project is about integrating research data into library search systems. The eTRACES project (BMBF) in cooperation with Leipzig University studies text-reuse in social scientific literature.
