Hans Geleijnse is currently working as Library Strategy Consultant and Program Coordinator of the TICER Summer School.
He studied Dutch Law and Journalism at the University of Nijmegen and joined Tilburg University in 1973 where he worked for the administration and management of the university. In 1983 he joined the University Library and was heavily involved in the development of the digital library. From 2000 to 2003 he served as Director of Information Services and Systems at the European University Institute in Florence. In 2003 he returned to Tilburg University to integrate the IT services with the Library. In January 2010 he retired as Director of Library and IT Services at Tilburg University.
From 2006 to July 2010 he has been President of LIBER, the Association of European Research Libraries. Within LIBER he is still involved in various activities, in particular in the development of an International Leadership Development Program.
Under his leadership various European projects on the development of the Digital Library and Open Access Repositories were successfully accomplished. In 2010/2011 he has been a member of the Expertenkommission SSG-Evaluation der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft.
