The DFG (German Research Foundation) Funding Programme "Scientific Library Services and Information Systems" aims to support scientific libraries, archives and other scientific service and information centres in Germany in setting up nationwide high-performance research information systems. According to the rapidly changing requirements and challenges of research information systems, the DFG funding priorities in this area are reconsidered and adapted on a regular basis.

A new strategic roadmap is currently being prepared, stating the DFG's contribution to an innovative information research infrastructure. The presentation emphasizes the strategic priorities of the upcoming roadmap in more detail, addressing such topics as National Licensing, Digitization, Open Access Publishing, Research Data and Virtual Research Environments as main focus areas.
