Carol Tenopir


Carol Tenopir is a Chancellor's Professor at the School of Information Sciences, University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the Director of Research for the College of Communication and Information, and Director of the Center for Information and Communication Studies. Professor Tenopir is a prolific author, a frequent speaker at professional conferences, and since 1983 has written the "Online Databases" column for Library Journal. Her MaxData project, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, compared methods for measuring journal usage and value. She is the recipient of the American Society for Information Science & Technology Research and Teaching Awards and the International Information Industry Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Tenopir holds a PhD degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois.
