Dr. Sigrun Eckelmann is a Programme Director at the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the group Academic Libraries and Information Systems (LIS 4). In her responsibility are the projects dealing with information management including libraries and archives as well as museums. Furthermore, she is running projects that are related to the sciences or engineering. She is a member in several German committees that are dealing with information management. Sigrun Eckelmann is running a number of initiatives of international cooperation especially with the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark and Russia.
